I am originally from Kentucky but moved to Southern Michigan with my family when I was in elementary school. As a child, I wanted to be “one of the guys” and do all the things that they did – so I did! I tagged along with my dad, my grandpa, my papa, and my older cousin; I learned to fish and hunt, to clean my own kill, and to feed myself off what the land provided. I primarily rifle hunted and fished local lakes through college and into my early adult years. I met my husband in 2018 and my passion for the outdoors exploded, as he introduced me to new hobbies.
You can regularly find me fly fishing in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. I am hopelessly addicted to bowfishing and catfish noodling. I have learned to hunt all kinds of fowl; ducks, geese, grouse, and pheasant. I have become an avid archery hunter; hunting whitetail, mule deer, antelope, elk, and moose. I have traveled the country, and internationally, to try my luck with my bow. I enjoy 3D archery shoots – like the Total Archery Challenge. I have a passion for handguns and spend many hours at the range. I enjoy hiking, camping, horseback riding, foraging, gardening, and processing our own game.
When I am not in the great outdoors, I am home working on our hobby farm. My son shows in our county 4H program so we are always raising dairy calves for fair. We also have goats, rabbits, and chickens. We have three kitties and five dogs; including our bird hunting companion, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Trout. My son participates in travel soccer and football, so if I am not traveling to hunt, I am traveling for sports. I also own three companies in the short-term rental space that keep me busy! When I have a spare quiet moment, I enjoy thought provoking Bible studies and good books!
I learned about ADC when I posted in a local Facebook group. As a diehard tomboy, I have always struggled to have friendships with other women. I desperately wanted to find friends who shared my hobbies. After posting, our prior Michigan President, Tina, reached out to me with a private message. I silently stalked the group for months before making the decision to join. Then, I had a “YES!” year; I applied to every drawing, for every trip, and made it to as many events as I could. I had a blast, learned a ton, and even made fast friends with other women! My passion for the outdoors bled into my new passion for what I had found with ADC. I wanted to encourage female friendships with like-minded women. I wanted to teach others the skills I already had. I wanted to empower women who didn’t have someone at home to support them. When the opportunity to apply to the leadership team came, I knew I wanted to take over as President, and here I am!
My favorite thing about ADC is the friendships I have made along the way. When I joined, I could count on one hand how many women I would have called friends. Now, I can name AT LEAST a hundred women I would walk into the wilderness with, no questions asked. If you are anything like I was, and think that it is impossible to make friends with other women, it’s simply untrue. You just need to find them! And we have made it super easy – because they are all RIGHT HERE!
What are you waiting for? Join us. I’ll see you on the next adventure!

Tanya Jones – FL
Tanya has been a member since the very beginning of ADC—like… literally since Day 1. Dependable, committed, caring, and with a heart as big as the Grand Canyon, Tanya is the kind of volunteer every organization dreams of having. At L.O.S.T., Tanya runs the kitchen like a champion—she’s the first one up each morning and stays on her feet most of the day making sure every attendee is well fed, taken care of, and ready for the adventure ahead.
Simply put… our FL Chapter could not pull off L.O.S.T. without her. Tanya, thank you for your dedication, your hard work, and the love you pour into everything you do. ADC is better because of you!
Crystal MacGown – Maine
Crystal decided this was the year – the year to learn how to turkey hunt, and SHE DID IT! Crystal harvested in her first turkey ever after taking a class and taking what she learned straight to the field!
“I had not been turkey hunting until this year. Wanting to properly prepare myself, I took a turkey hunting workshop a few weeks ago. It was an excellent class. I decided to embark on turkey hunting solo. I wanted space to myself to put what I had learned to work. To use a slate call for the first time. I fussed if I was doing it right. Well, I did. In fact, after settling into my blind, I did one yelp. Not even 15 minutes later a group of 4 jakes came in. I wasn’t after the one with the longest beard, I waited for one to step away from the group. With one shot, I harvested my very first wild Maine turkey. I could not be happier with myself. Building confidence knowing I am capable of harvesting organic wild game that will nourish me and my family feels amazing. 15 lbs. 3 1/2” beard. Feeling blessed and grateful!”
Mary Skinner – Florida
Mary has been an amazing supporter of ADC and L.O.S.T. this year in more ways than we can count. Through her business, Something Really Nice, LLC, she generously sponsored our 2026 L.O.S.T. Scholarship Program, helping ensure more women have the opportunity to attend and grow through this experience. Mary has been working hard behind the scenes supporting the conservation project portion of our program by pre-cutting bluebird house pieces so our L.O.S.T. attendees can assemble them and take them home. That’s a lot of time, effort, and dedication poured into making this weekend special.
Fun fact: Mary is a 2025 L.O.S.T. participant who joined ADC after last year’s event—and now she’s giving back in a BIG way. Mary will be here with us today leading the Conservation Project session to wrap up an incredible L.O.S.T. weekend, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her heart, her hustle, and her commitment to conservation. Thank you, Mary!
Sasha Dyer – Massachusetts
Sasha Dyer (middle) is one of those ladies who DOES IT ALL, including participating in the state run Becoming and Outdoors Woman Programs. Well she got not one of her mentees on not one but TWO birds each this year on the FT Deven’s women’s hunt! We love seeing our members help teaching in their local community!
“It is always great to be a mentor at MassWildlife’s Becoming an Outdoorswoman. We had a heck of a morning! Congratulations to these two new hunters that I am sure are hooked now!!”
Some of our members across multiple states participated in the Run for Trees!
Chapter Highlights
Indiana Chapter
In northern Indiana president Abbi Ottman hosted a “Medicinal Herbs at Home” where participants learned about herbal energetics, herb classification, and medicinal use. Then they each made an herbal tincture to take home.
Michigan Chapter
Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photographs, kill nothing but time. The MI Chapter ladies spent a few hours on an April Saturday cleaning up trash from the roadside at Bernard Baker, a Michigan Audubon Sanctuary. Tires, car parts, & several trash bags full of junk have been removed. All the kids did awesome, & even made it through a little hike afterwards.
Florida Chapter
April & May have been JAMMED PACKED for the ladies in Florida! Early in April they hosted their 3rd annual LOST program where 18 amazing ladies traveled from all over the state to spend the weekend learning more about conservation, the outdoors and hunting! From foraging and trapping to hunter safety, shooting, archery, and processing game, we covered a little bit of EVERYTHING.The ladies also leave the weekend with their hunters education certificate!
The chapter also hosted a meet and greet to assemble birdhouses and putting together pollinator planters—because conservation doesn’t always look like boots and camo; sometimes it looks like potting soil and screwdrivers!
Not a Clue Adventures hosted a class to teach a Kayak Confidence course at Silver Lake in Brooksville too! It’s important to be confident in yourself and your vessel whenever you’re on the water and the ladies all walked away with something new to add to their skill set.
Florida was also represented at the 2026 International order of Theodore Roosevelt Banquet in May!
“Stacy and I had the pleasure of being invited to the 2026 IOTR banquet, no doubt due to ADC and Deltas involvement in helping get Amendment 2 passed in Florida in 2024. IOTR is a huge player in getting the constitutional right to hunt and fish on the ballots around the country. They played a big part of that in Florida and now the funds from this weekend will go to helping get the right to hunt and fish passed in places like Maine and Colorado! So happy to be able to spread the ADC message around these rooms:) Also great to see lots of other familiar ADC faces too!” – Diedre B., Florida Chapter VP
Northeast Chapter
In mid April Sara and Sheryl of the Northeast hosted their 2nd Annual Ladies Turkey Workshop! 17 ladies from 4 different states came to learn how to turkey hunt! The ladies learned turkey hunting A – Z from the instructors and the Environmental Police from the Western District who kindly volunteered their time to come and teach the laws and regulations portion. Ladies got range time to try shotguns and learn about patterning too. It was a great event with LOTS of learning.
The last Saturday in May the chapter hosted their 3rd Annual Fly Fishing Float Day with Harrison Anglers. There were 9 girls from all over the Northeast and despite starting out with some really cold, rainy weather everyone had a blast, caught fish and learned so much!
Pennsylvania Chapter
In early May the PA Chapter hosted a Sourdough 101 workshop! The girls learned the process start to finish, the science behind the process, how to feed it, when to tell when it’s ready to use, how to add inclusions and even got to sample a fresh warm loaf.
“Our amazing educator who has been doing sourdough for 4 years did a great job of answering (and continuing to answer ) all our questions and concerns! Everyone went home with some sourdough slices, a starter of their own, instructions and some recipes to try!” – PA VP – Kayla McKeown
PA Chapter President Chastity King & chapter member Theresa McAndrew and volunteered at Nancy’s Vision Youth Turkey Hunt on the youth day in PA. This is a fundraiser that supports Catch A Dream and many community organizations. It was a very cold and pouring down rain event but 140 kids registered to participate and 70 gobblers were brought in and scored!

SPRING THINGS
While we are not a hunt club, you can see that April and May for a lot of ladies was spent chasing turkeys during the spring season. Congratulations to all the ladies that had a successful harvest but also a special congratulations to all of the ladies that tried for the first time! It’s not about the harvest, it’s about the hunt and getting out there and doing it is the first step!
