 A Message from our Founder |
 As this year comes to a close, we in leadership have been reflecting a lot about what we’ve built together—and honestly, it’s pretty incredible. This year looked like muddy boots, early mornings, full classrooms, thoughtful conversations, and a whole lot of heart. From conservation projects in our communities, to showing up for public discussions that matter, to teaching and learning alongside women who are new to hunting and fishing—you showed up. And that’s what makes this organization what it is. You proved that conservation is stronger when women are involved. That learning the outdoor sporting world doesn’t have to be intimidating—it can be empowering, supportive, and even a lot of fun. And that when women come together with shared values, real impact follows. None of this happens without community. Without women willing to volunteer their time, share their knowledge, ask questions, and support one another. Whether you joined a class, helped on a project, spoke up in a forum, or simply cheered us on—you played a part in moving conservation forward. As we head into the new year, we’re excited. There’s more to learn, more places to protect, and more women to welcome into the field and on the water. We’re carrying forward everything this year taught us, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together next. See you outside Brenna ADC Founder  As we start the new year, we carry forward the growth, courage, and curiosity that defined 2025 as “A Year of First Experiences.” Those moments laid the groundwork for what comes next. In 2026, our theme is United Nationally, Rooted Locally. Our national organization provides the foundation, but it is our chapters that build the house. The heart of American Daughters of Conservation lives in local communities where women gather, conservation takes shape, and traditions are strengthened. This year is about deepening roots, supporting local habitat and initiatives, and reaching women right where they are. When chapters grow their own identities and invest locally, the impact is lasting and meaningful, both within communities and across the nation. Here’s to a year of connection, purpose, and conservation that starts at home  American Daughters of Conservation has had an incredibly busy and successful year in 2025! Our current national operational budget is $10,157.74 and our ADC Land Fund is $120,654.69. —————– Some of our chapters have also provided a wrap-up summary of their year for 2025  FL 2025 Chapter Summary The Florida Chapter of American Daughters of Conservation had quite the year in 2025. In January, we started off strong with our whitetail educational seminar and our longleaf pine conservation project, where we planted well over a thousand pine trees in Lake and Sarasota Counties. To keep the momentum going, we gathered for a squirrel hunt in North Florida and hosted a small game and camping weekend in Central Florida. We also held a virtual shotgun patterning workshop in February. In April, we hosted our largest educational event—our annual L.O.S.T. (Ladies Outdoor Skills Training) weekend. Twelve new women from around the state joined us, earned their hunter safety certificates, learned about hunting in Florida, and ultimately became part of the ADC family. Things heated up in August with our conservation iguana hunt in South Florida, our multi-state meet-and-greet in Crystal River, and the kickoff of our six-month-long Reclaiming the Swamp series, which takes place in the Everglades in partnership with the Florida Trappers Association. In September, we were honored to be invited to the UF Game Lab’s turkey research facility to get a firsthand look at what the University of Florida is doing for turkey conservation here in the state. In November, we had a blast at our annual dove hunt hosted by our founder, Brenna Nuckols. We wrapped up the year in December with an eight-mile hike through the Black Bear Wilderness with current members and new friends for our Coffee and Conservation hike. In addition to our larger events and gatherings, we launched our ADC Book Club, held Florida Chapter quarterly meetings, did multiple trash clean ups and hosted various virtual educational talks covering topics such as pollinator and native plant conservation and public land hunting. We also attended multiple events and expos throughout the year, representing ADC and educating the public about our mission. The leadership team also had an impactful year advocating for hunting and conservation by attending every FWC Commission meeting throughout the year. The Florida black bear hunt and trapping issues were among the key topics we supported. Diedre also represented ADC Florida at the biannual Florida Wildlife Corridors, Corridor Connect Summit, which is three days of events and workshops for conservation professionals and landowners alike to collaborate and learn from one another in the name of conservation. Lastly, we can’t wrap up the year without highlighting the many successes of our members. It was a year of firsts for so many of our ladies—first deer, first public land duck hunts, first fish, first time skinning and processing an animal, first hunts, first historical discoveries in the woods, first paddling experiences, first tanning skin into leather, and first trapping endeavors. If you can think of it, one of our members did it—and that’s what made 2025 a truly monumental year for ADC Florida.  PA 2025 Chapter Summary 2025 Chapter Summary January Oh Honey!  The Northeast Chapter is hosting their first ever fundraising banquet as well as presenting a few member awards! We are going to have a lunch of smoked bbq as well as apps and dessert! Raffles, games, door prizes, cash bar, and auctions too! WHEN? June 13th, 2026 starting at 12 pm EST WHERE? Brookline, NH The event will benefit:  Scholarships for high school students & girls attending Conservation Camp Free & low-cost education opportunities for women and girls in the Northeast The launch of our Northeast LOST (Ladies Outdoors Skills Training) program in 2027 Local conservation projects If you are traveling from out of town and want to stay the night we also have a hotel local to the event (within 30 minutes) that has provided us a room discount code.We plan to have a get together after the event concludes back at the hotel for our members & their guests.
