Leadership Spotlight

Meet Christie Inman!
I am the western Pennsylvania Vice President with a passion for hunting.

Although I spent much of my childhood in the Allegheny mountains at my aunt and uncles camp in Tionesta, PA, I did not grow up with a hunting or fishing background. Coming from a single parent home growing up, I didn’t have a role model that was willing to take the time to get me involved in either sport. It wasn’t until I started dating my husband that I was asked if I had any interest in learning and I was 39 years young when I ended up taking my hunters safety course with my stepson who was 12 at the time. I harvested my first long beard at 41 and my first whitetail buck at 46 which goes to show that you are never too old to try something new!

I first learned about ADC from the PA President, Chastity King in an outdoors group chat on Facebook. Shortly thereafter, I decided to join ADC and after about a year of just taking it all in, I was encouraged to put my name in for the legendary archery hunt at Dan & Jan’s in Missouri. Much to my surprise, my name was drawn and away I went. It was one of the best experiences that I never knew I needed! It was the first time that I had traveled anywhere to hunt, let alone with women I didn’t know. The group of women were all different ages, yet nobody ever felt out of place. Although I did not have a successful hunt, it was such a warm and welcoming experience, and it made me realize how much I had missed growing up. I felt like pursuing a leadership role would allow me to focus on giving other young ladies this same opportunity that they may not have otherwise. Since that trip, I have been hog hunting in North Carolina, whitetail hunting in Kentucky, pheasant hunting in eastern PA, small mouth fishing in Erie, PA, muskie fishing in Minnesota, and Salmon fishing in Michigan. I am looking forward to meeting other like-minded women, learning new skills, and taking more trips in 2026.

In addition to having a daughter, son, and a stepson, I enjoy spending my “free time” with my four grandkids, cooking, drinking wine, paranormal investigations and traveling to various events with my food truck.
Hunt honest, shoot straight and tight lines!

MEMBER MENTION

We want to extend a really big congratulations to our Northeast sister Megan Plete Postal from New York. Megan writes for the Outdoor News, for the NY copy. The Outdoor News has been publishing hunting and fishing publications for outdoor enthusiasts for over 50 years. From Minnesota to New York, Outdoor News covers the local hunting and fishing scene like no other media source available. Megan has been writing  NY Outdoor News for about seven years, and it’s official that Megan has been given her OWN COLUMN!!!

Megan said it best in her own words when she posted about her new column, titled Field Notes. A column is different than just reporting. Having my own column is an opportunity to develop my own voice, and rather than telling other people’s stories, I get to tell a few of my own. It’s a huge honor to join these ranks – the publication’s other columnists are some of the most seasoned and respected voices in outdoor writing. So subscribe to the paper and don’t miss out on reading about some of my adventures!

Congratulations Megan! We are so proud of you!

Happy Hunting Season! Although we are not a “hunt club” many of our members are either just starting or about to start a very exciting time of year-  hunting season!

If you are congratulating women outside of ADC we encourage you to download and save this image to post when you are congratulating ladies on their harvests throughout the season. It’s a great way to spread the word about ADC on a post you were going to comment on anyway!

Chapter HighlightsFlorida The Florida chapter did an amazing job representing at the FWC Commission Meeting in Belle Glade, FL in early November! Members spoke on Hunting Proposals for the 2026–2027 season and proposed changes to Trapping Regulations, ensuring the voices of experienced outdoorswomen were heard.

We raised important concerns about the validity of survey data being used to shape hunting regulations, especially as misinformation about antlerless deer harvests circulates online. Members also addressed the proposed trapping regulation changes, voicing support for the Florida Trappers Association (FTA) to be involved in developing any new education requirements. We were proud to announce that ADC will be sponsoring two scholarships for women to attend the FTA’s Youth & Women’s Trapper Training in 2026.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who showed up, spoke up, and represented ADC with passion and professionalism. The Florida Trappers Association also had a fantastic turnout and did an outstanding job coordinating their comments — they covered a lot of ground and made a strong impact!

The Florida ladies also hosted their 4th “Reclaiming the Swamp” event of the series! A cold front kept the pythons tucked away unfortunately, but there was no lack of wildlife on this trip! Multiple native species of snakes were found and participants learned proper handling and identification  There’s always something to learn down in the swamp! Dierdre Brown, FL Chapter VP
Pennsylvania On November 8th the PA chapter hosted their first upland workshop at Faiths Pheasant Preserve! 12 ladies from all over the state came together to learn about upland birds, their habitat, hunting over dogs, and how to breast out/clean our harvests.

We harvested 20 birds total! Afterwards, everyone hung out at the cabin swapping experiences and enjoyed lots of delicious food! Can’t wait to do it again next year!  Kayla, PA VP
NortheastThe NE chapter hosted their second “first timers duck hunt” in collaboration with the CT River Valley Chapter of Delter Waterfowl. This experience was set up specifically for ladies who are brand new to duck hunting and the volunteers prepped the girls with a virtual meeting before the hunt so they could get their questions answered. The weather was rough but the girls braved the wind and less than ideal conditions. Congrats to Mandy on your duck!
